Empowering farming communities through sustainable development and comprehensive support programs
In compliance with Indonesian regulations mandating that at least 20% of newly planted areas be reserved for smallholder cooperatives (known as 'Plasma'), AEP Nusantara Plantations actively develops and supports plasma schemes in parallel with our own operations. We are committed to supporting all smallholders, including plasma/scheme farmers as well as independent smallholders, through comprehensive assistance programs.
As of 2018, the Group has allocated 5,795 hectares for plasma development across Sumatra and Kalimantan, with 3,181 hectares already fully planted and more development planned in stages.
Corporate guarantees of over $16 million to local banks for cooperatives to raise loans, plus assistance with land certification processes.
Construction of 400 km of bridges and external roads to improve living conditions and access in surrounding villages.
Support for Kas Desa village development programs including cattle rearing, fish ponds, and fruit orchards to supplement village livelihoods.
Protection of rivers from pollutants and allowing access for villagers to source jungle produce, ensuring food security for local communities.
AEP Nusantara establishes dedicated plasma offices to provide ongoing support and coordination for smallholder cooperatives. These offices serve as central hubs for technical assistance, financial guidance, and community engagement, ensuring that plasma farmers receive comprehensive support throughout their agricultural journey.
